πŸ’™ Bluebonnet Sessions πŸ’™

A Celebration of Texas Spring

Bluebonnet season is one of the most beloved and fleeting times of the year in Texas. These sessions are designed to capture the joy, beauty, and simplicity of spring, with portraits that feel light, natural, and timeless.

Traditionally, bluebonnet sessions take place in late March, when fields of blue stretch across the landscape and Texas spring is in full bloom. However, nature ultimately sets the schedule.

In March 2025, ongoing drought conditions made bluebonnets extremely difficult to find, reminding us that these sessions are entirely dependent on weather patterns and rainfall. Because of this, we closely monitor conditions each year before making final plans.

🌼 WHAT TO EXPECT 🌼

• Sessions are typically 20 minutes long
• Ideal for children, siblings, couples, and families
• Light guidance is provided for natural, joyful portraits
• A soft, timeless editing style that complements the season

πŸ“ LOCATION & TIMING πŸ“

Bluebonnet locations vary from year to year based on bloom conditions.
Details regarding location, dates, and booking availability will be posted here once we have a clearer picture of the 2026 bloom season.

We wait to announce sessions until we are confident that blooms are strong and accessible, ensuring the best possible experience and imagery for our clients.

🌿 A NOTE ON NATURE 🌿

Bluebonnet sessions are a celebration of the natural world and its rhythms. Because bloom timing and abundance are unpredictable, flexibility is essential. Sessions are scheduled carefully to align with peak blooms whenever possible.

If you love the idea of capturing your family surrounded by the beauty of a Texas spring, we encourage you to check back here for updates or follow along on social media for the most current announcements.

We look forward to welcoming spring with you when the fields are ready.

🌿 Weather & Bloom Disclaimer

Bluebonnet sessions are entirely dependent on natural conditions, including rainfall, temperature, and seasonal weather patterns. Bloom timing, abundance, and location vary from year to year and cannot be guaranteed.

For the 2026 season, only a limited number of Bluebonnet session slots will be available. Sessions will be announced only after blooms are confirmed.

If bluebonnets do not bloom sufficiently, or if weather conditions interfere with scheduled sessions, session fees may be applied toward another Love Preserved Photography session of the client’s choice. This flexibility allows families to preserve their investment even when nature does not cooperate.

Clients who are not comfortable applying their session fee to a different type of session are encouraged not to book until blooms are confirmed and session details are finalized.

Most sessions are pre-scheduled during golden hour, typically within the hour before sunset, to take advantage of soft, flattering light. In certain circumstances, last-minute sessions may be offered on cloudy or overcast days when lighting conditions are favorable.

By booking a Bluebonnet session, clients acknowledge and accept the inherent unpredictability of outdoor, seasonal photography.

πŸ’™ Outdoor Session FAQ

What happens if bluebonnets do not bloom or are limited?
If bluebonnets do not bloom sufficiently due to drought or weather conditions, sessions may be postponed or canceled. In these cases, your session fee may be applied toward another Love Preserved Photography session. Clients who prefer not to apply their fee toward another session are advised to wait to book until blooms are confirmed.

What happens if weather interferes with my scheduled session?
Weather is monitored closely. If conditions such as rain, extreme heat, or unsafe field conditions interfere, your session may be rescheduled or your session fee may be applied toward another type of session.

How many sessions will be offered in 2026?
Bluebonnet sessions are extremely limited. Only a handful of sessions will be offered for the 2026 season.

When are sessions scheduled?
Most sessions are scheduled during golden hour, typically within the hour before sunset. Occasionally, last-minute sessions may be offered on cloudy or overcast days when lighting conditions are favorable.

When will locations be announced?
Locations vary each year and will be shared once bloom conditions and accessibility are confirmed.

What should we wear for bluebonnet sessions?
